Pasture Stewardship, Clean Water & Herd Genetics
Raising exceptional grass-fed beef starts with how the land is managed. At Lund Angus Farm, we believe that cattle should live in harmony with the rolling hills and natural waterways of Central Virginia:
- Rotational Pasture Grazing: Our cattle are regularly rotated across fresh pastures. This allows forage grasses to recover naturally, prevents soil erosion, and ensures our herd always feeds on the most nutrient-rich tips of clover and cool-season fescue.
- Pure Black Angus Genetics: Black Angus cattle are renowned worldwide for natural marbling and tenderness. Unlike breeds that require grain feeding to develop flavor, our carefully selected genetics excel on a 100% forage diet.
- Low-Stress Animal Welfare: We handle our cattle calmly and quietly. Cattle that live peacefully on open pastures without confinement or transport stress produce consistently tender, flavorful beef.
- Zero Grain or Feedlot Finishing: Our animals spend their entire lives on pasture. We never use feedlot corn, silage, animal byproducts, or synthetic growth hormones.
After reaching natural maturity, each animal is dry-aged for 14 days at Schrock’s to concentrate beef flavor and maximize tenderness before being vacuum-sealed into convenient portions.
